B A Ballou 14K Gold Overlay on Sterling Compression Belt Buckle

B A Ballou and Co. is a well-known and respected jewelry manufacturer based in Providence RI, one of a few jewelers who created dress buckles of sterling silver topped by a thin layer of solid 14k gold. Not gold-filled. Not gold-plated. The compression buckle measures 1.75” x 1” with an opening for a 1” belt strap. The belt slides through the buckle and locks by means of pushing forward the attachment loop. No belt included in this listing. Buckle only. Excellent pre-owned condition. The fancy script initials could be a number of possibilities. My guess is FJ or BL when flipped. Just say, “it’s a family piece!” Shipped USPS First Class Mail
