Here's a tip folks, filters and fluids like to be replaced in the fall or when the boat is going to sit tight for the longest period of the year (winter). The point of this is to be aware of any issues that have arisen during the summer while you are using the boat that you may not be aware of like water in fuel or say lower unit-gear case. Water sitting in these areas for the winter can cause major damage to your equipment. A little maintenance in the fall can go along way in preventing a big surprise in the spring. So, if your shopping for a filter now, buy 2, take advantage of the extra discount and use the second in the fall. The quality of our gas is not going to get any better...Ever.
If order quantity is one unit, this item will be removed from the outer carton and the shrink wrapped element will be sent in a poly mailer. FYI the outer sleeve costs .00 to ship! Tough on a .00 item.
This element replaces many different manufacturers filter element numbers, the biggest of these is Mercury 35-802893Q then Yamaha ABA-FUELF-IL-TR & ABB-FUELF-IL-TR. It also replaces the Sierra 18-7845 or will shortly. This filter is considered the "LONG" version or "TALL" with more capacity. It will also replace the 18-7844 & 18-7944 "SHORT" version in some applications but be sure you have the space in the engine compartment to use the "LONG" version. Space is very very tight in some engine compartments.
