Sentimental Antique Victorian Green, Rose & Yellow 14K Gold Turquoise & Seed Pearl Earrings
Grand and elegant, these antique earrings in 14k rose, green and yellow gold are filled with Victorian symbology that makes them the perfect pair of bridal earrings. Shepherd's crook ear wires suspend tops of graceful milgrain scrollwork and solid rectangular bails with triangular side panels, the bails in turn suspending elliptical, yellow gold dangles, each with milgrain edges, applied green gold wreaths, rose gold rosettes and applied horseshoes with tiny, square turquoise cabochons. In perpendicular orientation and fully articulated between the dangles are paired rings with milgrain edges encircled on their front radius with tiny strung seed pearls. The symbology is conspicuously romantic and includes the paired "wedding" rings, a wreath, which symbolizes veneration, the seed pearls representing purity and delicacy, the good fortune sentiment of the horseshoe, and the turquoise cabochons, a symbol of true love, the motivation behind Queen Victoria's presenting her bridal party with turquoise brooches. In excellent condition with four of the tiny turquoise squares missing, otherwise fine, the earrings test positive for 14k gold, measures 1 3/4 x 7/8-inches overall and weigh a combined 8.4 grams.
