VTG Victorian Edwardian Cut Steel on Brass 2-Part Belt Buckle Germany 2.25"

This week I am selling vintage sterling, Victorian, art nouveau, Edwardian and designer and unsigned costume jewelry from the 1920s through 1980s, including vintage Mexican sterling jewelry. I am also selling hand-made artisan jewelry, including mid-century modern pieces.

From an estate sale I am offering a vintage 2 part woman’s belt buckle.  Each buckle is a cut steel silver circle mounted with rivets onto a brass circle piece. Each circle measures 1 1/8 inches and when both are clasped the belt buckle is 2 1/4 inches wide. One buckle is signed Germany - see photos. The design is Victorian and Edwardian verging into Art Deco, and I think this was made early in the 20th century or possibly in the late 1800s.
